Lucy Gallent (1955)

After cosmopolitan New Yorker Lucy Gallant (Jane Wyman) is left at the altar, she lands in a Texas boom town where she sells her trousseau to the local ladies and opens a dress shop, even though her career dampens the ardor of her new beau, rancher Casey Cole (Charlton Heston). Lucy and Casey's relationship weathers World War II, the burning of Lucy's shop and her emergence as a department store maven, until at last they resolve their conflicts.
